Welcome to Woodbuilt Furniture.
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of the Woodbuilt Furniture website and the purchase of products and services from Woodbuilt Furniture.
By accessing our website, creating an account, requesting a quotation, placing an order or purchasing a product from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
These Terms and Conditions must be read together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy, Returns & Refund Policy, Warranty Policy, and Care & Maintenance guidelines.
Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit, exclude or waive any right that a consumer may have under applicable South African law.
Woodbuilt Furniture is committed to transparent online trading. Product pricing, availability, payment requirements, delivery charges, handling and delivery timeframes, cancellation conditions, and applicable return and refund conditions are disclosed to customers through our website, product pages, checkout, order communications and applicable policy pages. Where information specific to an order differs from general information on this page, the customer will be informed before being required to accept an additional charge or material change.
Woodbuilt Furniture operates in accordance with applicable laws of the Republic of South Africa, including, where applicable:
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable legislation, the legislation will prevail and the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
For purposes of these Terms and Conditions:
“Customer”, “you” or “your” refers to the person or entity purchasing products or using our website.
“Woodbuilt Furniture”, “we”, “us” or “our” refers to Woodbuilt Furniture.
“Website” refers to the Woodbuilt Furniture online store and associated webpages.
“Product” or “Goods” refers to furniture, mattresses, décor, accessories and any other goods offered for sale by Woodbuilt Furniture.
“Order” means a request submitted by a customer to purchase goods from Woodbuilt Furniture.
“Business Day” means Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.
“Made-to-Order” or “Custom Product” means a product manufactured, upholstered, finished, altered or otherwise produced according to a customer’s selected specifications or requirements.
Customers may use our website to browse products, obtain product information, submit enquiries and place orders.
You agree not to:
Woodbuilt Furniture may restrict or terminate access to the website where there are reasonable grounds to believe that the website is being misused.
We take reasonable steps to ensure that product descriptions, dimensions, specifications, materials, colours, photographs and other information displayed on our website are accurate.
Products offered for sale must be represented accurately and truthfully. Woodbuilt Furniture does not intentionally advertise products that it knows it cannot supply or deliver. Product availability may change because of stock movement, production capacity or demand, and affected customers will be informed as provided in Section 8.
However, customers acknowledge that:
Natural variations that are characteristic of the material and do not affect the reasonable functionality or quality of the product are not necessarily manufacturing defects.
Where exact dimensions, colours or specifications are particularly important, customers are encouraged to confirm these with Woodbuilt Furniture before placing an order.
All prices displayed on our website are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR) unless otherwise stated.
The product price and any applicable delivery or additional charges will be disclosed before the customer completes the purchase. The final amount payable will be shown during checkout, on the quotation or on the invoice supplied to the customer, as applicable to the sales channel used.
Delivery, installation, assembly or other service charges may be charged separately where applicable and will be communicated before the relevant transaction is concluded. Woodbuilt Furniture will not intentionally introduce undisclosed mandatory charges after a customer has completed a purchase.
Woodbuilt Furniture reserves the right to change prices from time to time. A price change will not retrospectively alter an order already accepted by Woodbuilt Furniture, except where permitted by law or where an obvious pricing error has occurred and is addressed in accordance with applicable law.
While we take reasonable steps to ensure pricing and product information are correct, genuine typographical, technical or system errors may occasionally occur.
Where an obvious error is identified before an order is fulfilled, Woodbuilt Furniture will contact the customer and explain the error.
Where required, the customer will be given the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel the affected order and receive any refund due in accordance with applicable law.
Nothing in this clause limits any consumer right under the Consumer Protection Act.
An order may be placed through our website or another authorised Woodbuilt Furniture sales channel.
The customer is responsible for ensuring that all information supplied is accurate, including:
Customers should carefully review their order before making payment.
Submission of an order does not necessarily constitute final acceptance by Woodbuilt Furniture.
An order is regarded as accepted once Woodbuilt Furniture has confirmed the order or otherwise accepted it in accordance with applicable law.
All products are subject to availability.
Where an ordered product becomes unavailable, Woodbuilt Furniture will communicate this to the customer as soon as reasonably possible and provide the remedies required under applicable law.
Where appropriate, we may offer a suitable alternative product, but the customer will not be required to accept a substitute.
If Woodbuilt Furniture cannot fulfil an accepted order, we will not require the customer to accept a substitute product. Any payment due to be refunded will be handled in accordance with applicable South African law and our Returns & Refund Policy.
Payment must be made using one of the payment methods made available by Woodbuilt Furniture.
Available payment methods and any conditions attached to them will be disclosed to the customer during checkout, quotation or invoicing, as applicable. Customers will be informed of the total amount payable before completing payment.
Where payment is made by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), an order may remain pending until cleared funds reflect in Woodbuilt Furniture’s nominated bank account.
A proof of payment does not necessarily constitute cleared payment.
Customers are responsible for using the correct payment reference and banking details supplied by Woodbuilt Furniture.
Woodbuilt Furniture will never intentionally request customers to make payment into an account other than an officially authorised business account.
If you receive suspicious or unexpected banking instructions, please verify the details directly with Woodbuilt Furniture before making payment.
Woodbuilt Furniture has a standard handling and order-processing period of 0–5 working days. This period allows us to confirm payment where applicable, verify the order, allocate available stock, complete necessary warehouse preparation, quality checks, packaging and prepare the order for dispatch.
Handling time is separate from the delivery period. The delivery period begins once the order has completed the applicable handling and preparation process and is ready for dispatch.
Processing times within the 0–5 working day period may vary depending on:
Made-to-order, customised or specially manufactured products may have separate production lead times where these have been disclosed to the customer before or at the time of purchase.
Any handling, delivery or production time communicated to a customer should be interpreted in accordance with the specific order confirmation and our Shipping & Delivery Policy.
Where circumstances arise that materially affect an expected delivery date, we will take reasonable steps to inform the customer.
Certain Woodbuilt Furniture products may be manufactured or customised according to a customer’s selections.
These may include selections relating to:
Customers are responsible for confirming that their selected specifications are correct before production begins.
Once production has commenced, changes may not always be possible.
Cancellation and return rights relating to customised or made-to-order products will be determined in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act, ECTA where applicable, and our Returns & Refund Policy.
Nothing in this clause removes a customer’s statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe or incorrectly supplied goods.
Woodbuilt Furniture provides nationwide delivery throughout South Africa.
Our standard furniture deliveries are managed through our in-house Woodbuilt Furniture delivery service using our own Woodbuilt Furniture delivery trucks. This allows us to manage the handling and transportation of our furniture directly from dispatch through to delivery.
Woodbuilt Furniture does not represent an external courier or logistics company as its standard furniture delivery provider where the delivery is in fact being completed by our own in-house team.
Our standard delivery timeframe is 1–14 working days, subject to the customer’s delivery location, route scheduling, order size, product availability, access requirements and circumstances reasonably outside our control. Unless otherwise expressly stated, working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and South African public holidays.
The 1–14 working day delivery period is separate from the 0–5 working day handling period described in Section 10. Customers should therefore allow for the applicable handling period before the order enters the delivery stage.
Because Woodbuilt Furniture delivers throughout South Africa using scheduled in-house delivery routes, delivery dates may vary according to the customer’s province, town or delivery area and the availability of the relevant Woodbuilt Furniture delivery route.
Delivery fees may depend on:
The applicable delivery charge will be disclosed to the customer before the order is completed or, where a delivery quotation is required, before the customer accepts and pays the quoted delivery amount.
The customer must provide a complete and accurate delivery address together with a valid telephone number.
Where possible, Woodbuilt Furniture will communicate or confirm delivery arrangements with the customer once the order has been scheduled for delivery.
Delivery estimates are estimates unless a specific delivery date has expressly been agreed and confirmed in writing.
Woodbuilt Furniture will take reasonable steps to deliver within the stated or agreed delivery period and will communicate material delays where reasonably possible. Nothing in this section limits any rights a customer may have under applicable South African consumer law in relation to delivery of goods.
Before delivery, the customer should ensure that the product can reasonably fit through:
The customer should also ensure that the delivery area is safe and reasonably accessible.
Customers are encouraged to measure access routes before purchasing large furniture.
Where special access, lifting equipment, additional labour or other unusual delivery arrangements are required, additional arrangements and charges may apply where these have been disclosed and agreed upon.
Customers should inspect products as soon as reasonably possible upon delivery.
Where reasonably possible, customers should check:
Signing a delivery document may confirm receipt of the goods but does not remove any statutory rights that the customer may have under the Consumer Protection Act.
Any visible damage, incorrect goods or missing items should be reported to Woodbuilt Furniture as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate and resolve the matter efficiently.
Where a delivery cannot reasonably be completed because:
a reasonable redelivery or additional delivery charge may apply.
Any additional charge will be communicated to the customer.
This clause does not apply where the failed delivery resulted from Woodbuilt Furniture or its in-house delivery team.
Certain furniture may require assembly.
Where assembly is included in the purchase or delivery service, this will be communicated to the customer.
Where a product is supplied for customer assembly, customers must follow the supplied assembly instructions.
Damage caused by incorrect assembly, unauthorised modification, misuse or failure to follow reasonable instructions may not constitute a manufacturing defect.
This does not affect any statutory rights relating to defective goods or defective instructions supplied with the goods.
Customers wishing to cancel an order should contact Woodbuilt Furniture as soon as possible.
Cancellation rights and any applicable charges will depend on:
Any cancellation fee, where legally permissible, must be reasonable and will be determined in accordance with applicable legislation.
Our separate Returns & Refund Policy provides the detailed cancellation and return process applicable to customer orders. The policy is intended to remain publicly accessible on the Woodbuilt Furniture website without requiring a customer to log in or create an account.
Returns and refunds are governed by the Woodbuilt Furniture Returns & Refund Policy and applicable South African consumer law.
The Returns & Refund Policy is maintained as a separate, clearly accessible website policy and sets out, as applicable, the return window, eligible and non-eligible returns, the procedure for requesting a return, the method by which goods are returned or collected, any applicable return costs, cancellation requirements, inspection procedures and how approved refunds are processed. The policy applies to qualifying non-defective returns where permitted or required, as well as defective, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods.
Nothing contained in these Terms and Conditions is intended to prevent a customer from exercising a statutory right to return goods where such a right applies.
Returned products may be required to be made available for reasonable inspection before the appropriate remedy is determined.
Refunds, repairs, replacements and other remedies will be processed in accordance with applicable law and the circumstances of the particular claim.
Woodbuilt Furniture will apply its published return and refund terms consistently. We will not advertise a return or refund right and then intentionally refuse to honour that right where the customer meets the stated conditions or where a remedy is required by law.
Woodbuilt Furniture aims to supply products that are reasonably suitable for their intended purpose, of acceptable quality and free from defects as required by applicable law.
Where a product does not comply with the standards required by the Consumer Protection Act, the customer may have statutory remedies available.
Nothing in our warranty, returns policy or these Terms and Conditions overrides or reduces those statutory rights.
Customers should notify us of suspected defects as soon as reasonably possible and provide information that allows us to assess the product.
We may request photographs, videos or other reasonable information before arranging an inspection, collection or other appropriate remedy.
Products may carry a Woodbuilt Furniture warranty or a manufacturer’s warranty.
Warranty periods and conditions may differ depending on the product.
Warranty coverage does not ordinarily extend to damage resulting from matters such as:
to the extent permitted by law.
Our Warranty Policy must always be interpreted together with the Consumer Protection Act and does not replace statutory consumer guarantees.
Many Woodbuilt Furniture products contain natural materials.
Characteristics such as:
may occur naturally.
These characteristics can form part of the appearance of natural materials and are not automatically defects.
A characteristic will be assessed in the context of the material, product description, expected quality and applicable consumer law.
Customers should follow the care and maintenance instructions supplied with the product or published by Woodbuilt Furniture.
Furniture should be used for its intended purpose and protected from conditions likely to cause unreasonable damage.
Depending on the material, this may include protection from excessive moisture, prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, harsh chemicals and unsuitable cleaning products.
Failure to follow reasonable care instructions may affect a warranty claim where the failure caused or contributed to the damage.
Promotional offers may be subject to specific terms including:
Unless specifically stated otherwise, promotions cannot necessarily be combined with other promotional offers.
Woodbuilt Furniture may correct or withdraw a promotion affected by an obvious error, fraud or system malfunction, subject to applicable consumer law.
Where Woodbuilt Furniture issues gift vouchers or store credit, additional terms may apply.
Any expiry period or limitation will comply with applicable South African consumer legislation.
Store credit will not be used as a substitute for a cash refund where legislation gives the customer the right to receive a refund by another legally required method.
Woodbuilt Furniture respects the privacy of its customers.
Personal information may be collected and processed for legitimate purposes including:
Personal information will be processed in accordance with POPIA and our Privacy Policy.
By using our website or communicating with Woodbuilt Furniture electronically, you acknowledge that certain communications and transactions may occur electronically.
Electronic communications, order confirmations, invoices and other data messages may have legal effect in accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act and other applicable law.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that the email address and telephone number supplied to us are correct and kept up to date.
Where legally permitted, customers may receive marketing communications from Woodbuilt Furniture.
Customers may unsubscribe from marketing communications using the available unsubscribe method or by contacting us.
Operational communications relating to an existing order, payment, delivery, warranty or customer-service matter are not necessarily marketing communications.
Unless otherwise stated, the content appearing on the Woodbuilt Furniture website, including:
is owned by or lawfully used by Woodbuilt Furniture.
Content may not be reproduced, distributed, republished or commercially exploited without appropriate permission, except where permitted by law.
Woodbuilt Furniture reserves the right to conduct reasonable verification procedures where an order appears suspicious or potentially fraudulent.
An order may be temporarily held while legitimate verification takes place.
Where fraud or unlawful activity is reasonably suspected, Woodbuilt Furniture may refer relevant information to payment providers, financial institutions or lawful authorities where permitted or required by law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation.
To the extent permitted by law, Woodbuilt Furniture will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses that were not reasonably foreseeable and did not arise from a breach of a statutory obligation by Woodbuilt Furniture.
Any limitation contained in these Terms must always be interpreted subject to applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
Woodbuilt Furniture will not be responsible for delays caused by events reasonably beyond its control where permitted by law.
Examples may include:
Where such an event affects an order, Woodbuilt Furniture will take reasonable steps to communicate with affected customers and fulfil its legal obligations.
Woodbuilt Furniture aims to resolve customer complaints fairly and efficiently.
Customers should first contact our customer service team and provide:
We will assess the complaint and attempt to provide an appropriate resolution in accordance with these Terms and applicable consumer law.
Customers will not be required to waive statutory consumer rights as a condition of receiving assistance with a complaint.
Customers are encouraged to contact Woodbuilt Furniture first so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve a dispute.
Where a consumer dispute cannot be resolved directly, the customer may have the right to refer the matter to an appropriate alternative dispute-resolution body, consumer authority, ombud or court with jurisdiction.
Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from exercising any legally available right of recourse.
These Terms and Conditions and transactions concluded with Woodbuilt Furniture are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable South African law and through a court, tribunal, ombud or other forum having lawful jurisdiction.
Woodbuilt Furniture may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect:
The latest version will be published on our website together with the date on which it was last updated.
Changes will not retrospectively remove rights that have already accrued to customers under an existing transaction or applicable law.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or severed to the extent necessary, while the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
No provision of these Terms and Conditions should be interpreted as requiring a customer to waive a right granted by the Consumer Protection Act or other applicable legislation where such a waiver is prohibited.
Where these Terms provide less protection than mandatory South African consumer law, the applicable legislation will prevail.
These Terms and Conditions, together with the applicable order confirmation, invoice, product information and Woodbuilt Furniture policies incorporated into the transaction, constitute the terms governing the relationship between Woodbuilt Furniture and the customer in respect of the relevant transaction.
Nothing in this clause excludes representations or obligations that cannot legally be excluded.

Woodbuilt Furniture aims to ensure that the material information presented to customers is clear, accurate and consistent across our website and purchasing process. This includes, where applicable:
